Fugu was created because I couldn’t find a solution that suited the way I use my Mac: working with many Terminal windows while relying heavily on dictation. Fugu began as a fork of Yabai, initially focused on fixing bugs. As I added more features, it gradually evolved into a product of its own.

Fugu supports Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 14 or later.

There are no additional minimum requirements. However, because Fugu’s AI models run locally, it will generally perform faster on newer generations of Apple silicon. If you are unhappy with Fugu’s performance on your Mac, please contact us to discuss a refund.

Yes. Fugu works alongside your keyboard and mouse, so you can continue using them whenever you like.

We understand that Fugu’s permission requests can sound alarming without context. These permissions are required to organize your windows, provide dictation, and enable voice control. Your data never leaves your Mac. The camera and microphone are activated only when needed, which you can verify through the privacy indicators in the macOS menu bar.

When you check out, your seven-day trial begins at no charge. A card is required, but you can cancel at any time during the trial. Once the trial ends, Stripe will charge the card you entered during checkout. This is a one-time purchase, and there will be no future charges.

Because I use Fugu myself, it will continue to receive maintenance updates to ensure compatibility with future versions of macOS. The extent of additional features will depend on Fugu’s commercial success.
